On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, I welcome you in Ghent. It is fantastic to see such a large turnout!

At first we were somewhat reluctant to express our interest to host the annual meeting of ISBNPA, since within the city center of Ghent the capacities of potential venues are rather limited. However our physical activity mission in mind, we figured we could overcome this issue by combining two venues at walking distance from each other. So we are very happy that Ghent University immediately granted us the use of two of its most beautiful venues: Aula and Pand.

Beyond our expectations even with these two venues, hosting the meeting became a real challenge as we reached a record number of registrations. We stopped advertising our meeting at an early stage, but still we have a really full house! We already apologize for the potential inconvenience of some overcrowded rooms. However from a health perspective it will be positive as it may promote some standing during sessions.

Together with the Scientific Committee we succeeded in compiling a great program with interesting keynote lectures, poster sessions and 7 parallel sessions of symposia and oral sessions. For the first time we will also have debate symposia, invited lectures and short oral presentations. We really hope the program will inspire you.

Don't forget to take the opportunity to discover Ghent, the so called medieval Manhattan and please join us for the conference dinner at the stunning Castle of the Counts on Friday night. Furthermore you can still sign up for some ISBNPA morning activity sessions. A run, swim or yoga session in the center of Ghent on a spring morning together with other ISBNPA delegates, should not to be missed.

To conclude I really think we have a nice program to offer you, thanks to all the great contributions and also thanks to the help and enthusiasm of the local organizing committee. Furthermore I really want to thank my entire research group and my department for the big support.

Again, welcome in Ghent, thanks for joining us and we hope that you will go home with new research ideas, increased knowledge, new friends and very nice memories!
