Applicants should have a doctoral degree in nutrition or a related field, and be a registered dietitian (RD). Evidence of research focus and productivity in terms of grants and publications is expected. See Position Description for details.


Position Description:
The Department of Nutrition at the UNC-CH Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in community based public health nutrition research and practice. Candidates should have proven track record in community based public health nutrition research and practice; including areas of expertise such as interventions in communities, nutrition and physical activity behavior change, nutrition communication, or nutrition policy. Focus on health expertise such as maternal and child nutrition, obesity prevention/weight management, and or chronic disease prevention is desirable. In addition to an active community- oriented research program, we anticipate that the successful candidate will participate in the leadership team for our coordinated Masters of Public Health/Registered Dietitian program. Exp. with public health agencies and organizations are desirable. Registered Dietitian credential is required. Successful candidates will develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program, mentor students and teach graduate level courses. A PhD or equivalent terminal degree is required.
