ISBNPA 2nd Annual Meeting is a Success! The International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity held its 2nd annual meeting in beautiful Quebec City, Quebec July 17-20, 2003. The Society continues to grow in diversity and membership with participants from more than 14 countries, including Canada, Europe, Australia and the U.S. in attendance. The unique integration of behavioral nutrition with physical activity research conducted by scientists internationally made for an exciting meeting. Roof-top view of Old Quebec Among the conference highlights were a discussion of the cultural and socioeconomic influences on nutrition and physical activity, an exploration of the gap between behavioral intention and behavior, and a review of maintenance of weight loss among adults. School-based nutrition and physical activity interventions also were addressed as well as monitoring of physical activity and food intake at the global level. Lessons learned from behavioral interventions were exchanged throughout the conference.
